As of January 1st under the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act, alimony is no longer deductible nor includable. As this is newly underway, the local family law bar hopes, “the Legislature will address in short order a situation that is greatly complicating pending divorce cases and impacting self-represented parties perhaps most of all.”
The Massachusetts Bar Association’s House of Delegates unanimously endorsed a proposal developed by Edelstein’s Business Valuation partner, Marc Bello.
