Spring & Summer Community Service Activities
We’ve been busy participating in community service events at Edelstein these past few months. We’re proud to work closely with Building Impact to organize these events that allow us to connect with and help people in need.
Check out what we’ve been up to!
April: We annually participate in the Jimmy Fund’s Rally Against Cancer. Even during one of the busiest times of year for the firm, we enjoy supporting and raising funds for this great cause. Also in April, Edelstein was recognized at the Building Impact Non-Gala as a Gold Impact Award recipient. Community Service co-chair Danielle McDonagh accepted the award on behalf of the firm.
May: We put together care packages for students in grades 1-8 attending Camp Crossroads, which is a camp designed to address the unique needs of youth facing a wide range of social, economic and emotional challenges. Campers enhance their confidence while developing skills and strengthening relationships. The care packages were greatly appreciated as many of the campers embarked on their first time away from home.
June: In June, over 30 Edelstein colleagues took part in the MSCPA Day of Service. We worked with the organization Heading Home on-site in Cambridge where we donated $1,000 towards supplies, built picnic tables, and planted flowers. Heading Home’s mission is to “to end homelessness in Greater Boston by providing a supported pathway to self-sufficiency that begins with a home, together with critical services such as life skills, financial literacy, and job training.”
August: A group of over 15 volunteers joined together to create bookmarks for the Boston Chinatown Neighborhood Center (BCNC) which provides the resources and support needed by the people they serve to ensure they achieve greater economic success and social well-being. The bookmarks will be used by the Red Oak After School Program in which literacy support is of significant importance.
